1. World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

A joint awareness programme was organized in Mysuru to observe the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons and inaugurate Udaya Hejje, an association of liberated bonded labourers. Supported by the District Administration, District Legal Services Authority, Labour Department, Madilu Education and Rural Development Organization, and other departments, the programme focused on preventing human and child trafficking, eliminating bonded labour, and strengthening institutional action. The event, inaugurated by Hon’ble Smt. Usharani, Senior Civil Judge and Chairperson of the District Legal Services Authority, Mysuru, brought together government officials, legal authorities, child welfare representatives, and civil society organizations with a shared commitment to making Mysuru a district free from human trafficking and bonded labour.

2. Awareness and Sensitization Programme

An awareness and sensitization programme was conducted on 17 July 2026 at DTMN and Government Pre-University College, Bettadapura, Chunchanakatte, and Hosur Government Pre-University College under the SCSP and TSP schemes. Organized by the District Child Labour Project Society in collaboration with the District Administration, Labour Department, and Taluk Legal Services Committee, the programme focused on educating students about Child Marriage, Child and Adolescent Labour, and the POCSO Act. The session brought together legal authorities, government officials, labour department representatives, and civil society members to strengthen awareness of children’s rights, protection laws, and collective responsibility for preventing exploitation and offences against children.

3. World Day Against Child Labour

World Day Against Child Labour was observed on 23 June 2026 at Government High School, Bilikere, through a joint initiative of the Taluk Administration, Hunsur, Taluk Legal Services Committee, Labour Department, District Child Labour Project Society, District Child Protection Unit, and Madilu Education & Rural Development Organization. The programme focused on raising awareness among students and the community about the harmful effects of child labour, while emphasizing every child’s right to education, protection from exploitation, and a safe and secure childhood.

4. World Environment Day 2026 Drawing Competition

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and Madilu Education and Rural Development Society, Mysuru jointly organized a drawing competition for school children at Kalamandira, Mysuru. The programme provided young participants with an opportunity to express their ideas and creativity through art while promoting awareness about the importance of environmental protection, conservation, and sustainable practices. The initiative encouraged children to reflect on environmental responsibility and develop a greater appreciation for protecting nature and our surroundings.

5. Plastic Cleaning Campaign at Meenakshipura

On 26 May 2026, a Plastic Cleaning Campaign was conducted at the Kaveri Backwaters, Meenakshipura Tourism Place, with the collaborative efforts of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Mysuru; Madilu Education and Rural Development Society, Mysuru; MIT; Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering; and Ananduru Gram Panchayat. The campaign focused on reducing plastic pollution and protecting the natural beauty of the tourism area. Through the collective efforts of the participating organizations, approximately 400 kg of plastic waste was collected and removed, contributing to a cleaner and more environmentally responsible destination.

6. World Forest and World Water Day

On 25 March 2026, a joint programme commemorating World Forest Day and World Water Day was conducted at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysuru. The programme was organized through the collaborative efforts of the District Authority, District Legal Services Authority, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), Madilu Education and Rural Development Society, and VVCE. The initiative focused on creating awareness among students about the importance of protecting forests, conserving water resources, and promoting responsible environmental practices. The programme encouraged collective responsibility towards safeguarding natural resources and building a more sustainable environment for future generations.

7. Special Children’s Village Council

A Special Children’s Village Council was organized at Chikkabeechanahalli Gram Panchayat to provide children with a platform to openly share their concerns, challenges, and needs. The initiative focused on listening to children’s voices and understanding the issues affecting their well-being, education, safety, and development. The programme encouraged child participation in local governance and highlighted the importance of creating a supportive and child-friendly community.

8. Human Rights Day and Labour Awareness Programme

On 20 December 2025, an awareness programme on Human Rights Day, Child Labour, and Adult Labour Laws was organized at Government First Grade College, K.R. Nagar. The programme was jointly conducted by the Labour Department, Legal Services Committee, Taluk Administration, and Madilu Education & Rural Development Society. The initiative focused on creating awareness among students about human rights, the protection of children from labour and exploitation, and legal provisions relating to child and adult labour. The programme also encouraged students and the community to understand their rights and responsibilities and support efforts towards a safe, fair, and rights-conscious society.
